CODE OF CONDUCT

SXSW Sydney helps creative people achieve their goals. One way we do this is by serving as a platform for engaging, thought-provoking conversations and experiences.

SXSW Sydney is not a place for behaviour that is off-topic, abusive, illegal, intimidatory or conducive to the spread of misinformation. We ensure that our venues and platforms meet these standards.

SXSW Sydney defines inappropriate behaviour as that which undermines the spirit of SXSW Sydney, including any form of written, verbal or physical abuse or threats, the use of derogatory or discriminatory language, gestures or actions, any form of harassment, racism, sexism, or any other targeted comments which may violate any local, state or Commonwealth laws or cause harm to another SXSW Sydney participant before, during or after the SXSW Sydney events, whether in-person in Sydney, Australia or at satellite events, via the SXSW Sydney mobile app, through social media channels, using the SXSW Sydney Session Select Submissions portal, while engaging in any online aspect of the events, or any other method of communication.

SXSW Sydney may take action in its discretion to address any individual(s) or group(s) it believes fail to meet the standards set out in this Code of Conduct, including, without limitation, revoking the violating parties’ credentials without refund.

Please contact conduct@sxswsydney.com if you believe you’ve observed or experienced a violation of this Code of Conduct, and SXSW Sydney will work to assess the situation and to respond as soon as possible. Notifying SXSW Sydney does not constitute or replace a notification to NSW Police or other authorities as applicable.

All suspected violations of the law should be reported to NSW Police. For emergencies, immediately dial 0-0-0. For non-emergencies, the Police Assistance Line is available at 131 444.
