Winner presents at the 2025 SXSW Pitch Awards Ceremony in Austin, Texas
Sydney, Australia –Monday 27 May, 2024 – South by Southwest Sydney has today opened submissions for SXSW Sydney Pitch2024, happening this October as part of the SXSW Sydney Conference.
Colin Daniels, Managing Director of SXSWSydney said: “Startups relentlesslychallenge the status quo, disrupting and reinventing business models and[sometimes] solving what was deemed unsolvable. We invite visionary innovatorsfrom around the globe to take part in SXSW Sydney Pitch 2024.”
Now in its second year, SXSW Sydney Pitchpresented by VentureCrowd showcases some of the global startup ecosystem’s mostexciting, mission-oriented innovations, startups and people creating impactfulcompanies, products and solutions that will change our lives. It offers invaluable exposure for innovatorsand early-stage founders through attracting recognition from influentialfigures in their industry, opportunities to meet investors and potentialpartners, and wide media exposure.
The theme for SXSW Sydney Pitch 2024 is‘What’s Next’, reflecting the coming wave of technologies and the aspiration toseek solutions to some of the most pressing issues facing our world today.
The SXSW Sydney Pitch grand final winner willreceive two Platinum Badges for SXSW Austin 2025 and two economy returnairfares to Austin, Texas (terms and conditions apply); a special slot to present a speed pitch during the 2025 SXSW Pitch AwardsCeremony in Austin, Texas; and a tailored mentorship package. Finalistswill also receive additional prizes to be announced as the event dateapproaches.

Last year marked the first time SXSW, thelegacy creative, culture and tech event that originated in Austin more than 40years ago, expanded internationally to find its second home in the vibrant andcreative hub of Australia, Sydney.
More than $23.2 billion in funding has beenraised at SXSW Pitch in Austin since 2009. SXSW Sydney Pitch now brings this opportunity to the Asia-Pacificcommunity, providing a global platform for founders and innovators on this sideof the world to present their emerging innovative technology across sevencategories to a panel of industry technology experts, high-profile mediapersonnel, and venture capitalists/angel investors.
Last year’s inaugural SXSW Sydney Pitch sawMelbourne-based medical robotics startup NanoCube Health win the grand final,giving them the chance to take the global stage at SXSW Austin’s Pitch AwardCeremony earlier this year. NanoCube Health is an early-stage startup workingto develop advanced nanorobotics technology to enable accurate,minimally-invasive early detection, diagnosis and targeted treatment of cancer,with pancreatic cancer being a focus.

Who can apply for SXSWSydney Pitch?
Applicants may be an early-stage startupcompany or a team of founders of an impactful, innovative business product orsolution in the SXSW Sydney Pitch Entry Categories. Individuals and solofounders are also eligible to apply. ‘Pitchers’ are those selected to presenttheir pitch at the SXSW Sydney Pitch competition and must be available topresent at the Pitch Round and the Grand Final in person. SXSW Sydney Pitchencourages underrepresented founders and diverse teams to apply and to puttheir best pitcher forward.
